D.I.Y Moisturizing Hair Spray

D.I.Y Moisturizing Hair Spray

It’s so easy to neglect your hair while it’s in a protective style. Your protective style looks so good you forget that you should be taking care of your hair. It happens, but when you take down those braids or that sew in, it will show. This has happened countless times to me. I’ve experienced a lot of hair shedding and breakage. But when I started my hair journey, I decided to be more serious about taking care of my hair.

Being a wife, a mom and a student, I just cannot find the time to be all up in my hair on a daily basis, so protective styles are my go to. Protective styles are so called because they’re supposed to protect your hair especially your ends, right? But styles such as braids do the opposite. Synthetic hair sucks all the moisture out of your hair leaving it really dry. So maybe we shouldn’t be calling them protective styles after all!! Anyway that’s a story for another day. I use this D.I.Y moisturizing hair spray to keep moisture in my hair.  It has helped me a whole lot. My hair is softer and it breaks so much less than before. Using a spray bottle makes it so much easier to apply and it only takes a few minutes.

This is what I use,

I add all ingredients to the spray bottle then I shake it vigorously until everything has dissolved and the mixture becomes cloudy. You might want to use a bigger spray bottle, you won’t have to shake it as much as I did. Also you can use any other hair moisturizers. You can also use aloe Vera juice instead of plain water. Aloe Vera is known to help promote hair growth and for its moisturizing properties, for both hair and skin. The S-curl and the Elasta Mango Butter moisturizers are two of my favorite moisturizers. They smell so good and leave my hair feeling so soft.

I use this on my hair every day or every other day, depending on how my hair feels…and it only takes a few minutes. And if you have on braids, make sure to also spray along the length of the braids. That way you also moisturize the length of your hair. A little goes a long way. This moisturizing spray is great for both relaxed and natural hair.

BTW, I also store this in the refrigerator. I feel like if I don’t, it might go bad. I know, that’s weird! I may be a little crazy, I don’t know  . I also kinda like how cool it feels when I spray it on my scalp. Just make sure you shake well before you spray.

Yay! So happy to hear that Leti. My hair also shed quite a lot after I had Tyler but with a LOT of TLC you can nurse it back to health.
